Waite Arboretum

This afternoon we spent an enjoyable couple of hours wandering through the arboretum which is about 10 minutes' drive from our house. It is like a huge English park planted with natives and exotic trees. It was the perfect place for the little boys to explore. We found all sorts of trees to climb and use as cubby houses. There were families of ducks waddling along and vivid green lorikeets high in the trees.

Native wood ducks bathed in the dam and then slipped, in single file, under the fence surrounding the dam.

The late afternoon sun bathed the trees in a glorious gold hue.
