One rainy Monday

Today was cold - only 10C and raining. It was not the weather for going out with boys so we had a craft morning. The boys always jump at the idea of craft. We started with an idea which came from an online craft journal. The idea was to make stamps from potatoes and carrots and construct rather nice ladybird designs. This idea very quickly became altered to become finger or whole hand painting and you can see what happened next......................

Oliver did not like the restrictions that the paper imposed! All of the chair coverings are enjoying a good soak tonight. It is amazing just how far a good finger painting session can travel!

After washing up from painting we moved onto making pig sock puppets. Both boys were more than a little interested in the wadding which was going to be used as stuffing in the pigs.

Here are the finished pigs, again from the same craft blog. They were fairly flimsy and tonight have ended their days as socks in the laundry basket!

After lunch we were visited by my former bridesmaids, Gina and Margaret and their four children. The children had a great afternoon playing with their trainset, drawing, dancing and generally having fun. This photo shows Alice, Kate, Oliver, Ella and William.
